Last week turned out to be a very lucky week for me. I harvested variety of veggies. Most of my plants are now in to 2nd-3rd month of their life and are in their prime fruit bearing stage.

First Okra’s. As I had mentioned in my last post, okra’s (Albana Red variety) were showning li’l bit of unusual growth trends. Which made it difficult to judge the right stage for harvest. So, I first harvested the biggest of the Okra and tasted it raw. It turned out to have over-grown, the pods had already started hardening and the skin wan’t tender either.

Well that meant I needed to harvest the remaining ones quickly.

Here are they.

They tasted delicious bringing cheer on the gardener face.

Next are these peas. With a price tag of Rs. 40/- per kg they made my home minister very happy and I received bulk orders.

Next are carrots. The last time I had harvested few carrots, they were yet to be fully grown. So, I had left the rest from the same batch to grow a li’l longer. But the problem is they were probably sowed too close to each other and didn’t get space to grow further. Hopefully the next batch (already sowed) will show better results.

When the harvest is of carrots. Zoya would like to have them all. She just loves them.

All this while for almost last 3 month’s now the tomato plant’s have been growing and growing and growing…testing my patience every bit. They are now almost close 6+ ft.
But our patience ran out last week and we decided to make curry out of few raw tomatoes instead of waiting any longer..
